Jet lag is worse if you travel from west to east

Jet lag is always awful, but it is especially bad if you are traveling from west to east. This is due to your body running on a natural 24.5-hour day and traveling through time zones from west to east makes you “lose” time, while traveling from east to west makes you “gain” time. Your body struggles to adjust to the lost sleep and food from the flight, and often takes days to recover, leaving you feeling awful in the meantime.
