It may be time to start looking at a new home in the coldest continent on Earth, all of you reptile haters out there. Antarctica is the only continent on the planet without any reptiles or snakes, making it the polar opposite of Australia. Scientists believe there are no reptiles on the continent due to the cold-blooded nature of these animals. Reptiles and snakes require outside sources to heat them internally, which is why you often find rattlesnakes lying on warm rocks in the sun. In the Antarctic, there is no warm sun or heated rocks, and reptiles would quickly die from the cold.
