9 out of every 10 people live in the Northern hemisphere. In total, that means approximately 6.6 billion people out a total human population of 7.3 billion live above the equator. There is actually much more liveable land in the northern hemisphere, with the completely inhospitable Antarctica taking up a large portion of the Southern Hemisphere’s landmass.
