In a weird twist, Japanese golfers actually have hole-in-one insurance. Approximately 30% of all amateur Japanese golfers pay around $65 a year for their hole-in-one insurance. This is due to the fact that when a Japanese golfer scores in one shot, they're expecting to empty their pockets and give lavish gifts, food, and drinks to their golfing buddies and other friends who might be around. This is because scoring a hole-in-one is seen as good luck, and the Japanese culture is rich in tradition.
