Alaska and Maine are the only two states to never send a team to the NCAA tournament

Of the 50 states in the United States of America, 48 have sent a college team to the NCAA March Madness tournament. Only Maine and Alaska have not sent a team to the tournament. Alaska does not have a division 1 men’s basketball team, and therefore it is impossible to make March Madness. Maine, on the other hand, has the opportunity but has never had a team with enough skill to make the tournament. Talk about being left out of the party.
