While digging through the remains of Pompeii in 2019, archaeologists found a shocking discovery - there was evidence of fast-food and takeout restaurants in the ancient remains of the Roman city that was destroyed and preserved by a volcanic eruption. They found the remains of what they think made up over 150 different fast-food and takeout restaurants throughout the city of Pompeii, meaning the ancient Romans would have had access to a similar array of fast-foods as we do in the modern day.
