A flipped coin is more likely to land on the side it started on

When a coin is flipped, the odds for which side it will land on are not quite 50/50. Whatever side of the coin starts facing upwards before being flipped has a slightly higher chance of landing heads up, and this makes the odds closer to being 51/49. While that is interesting, an even larger discrepancy comes when spinning a penny to see which side lands up. The penny will land tails up 80 percent of the time due to the head side weighing slightly more.
