M&M stands for Mars and Murrie

Can you believe M&M's came AFTER Smarties?! Forrest Mars (Mars Company) noticed that the Smartie's candy shell prevented the chocolate from melting so he collaborated with Bruce Murrie (Hershey) to create M&Ms. They later trademarked the incredible slogan "Melts in Your Mouth, Not in Your Hand".
