An avocado is actually a large berry

While many people think that avocado is a vegetable, it is actually a fruit. Even more shocking is that avocado is technically classified as a large berry with a single seed in it. This comes as a surprise to many, as berries are commonly sweet, while avocados have a unique taste that is not at all similar to strawberries, blueberries, or blackberries. A fruit is technically anything that is the fleshy product of a tree and contains a seed, so avocados definitely fall under that heading.
