U.S. police officers wear blue because it the color of loyalty

While there are several reasons that American police officers wear the color blue, the reason they started was that the color blue is the color of loyalty. When people see the color blue, they think of loyalty and therefore see the police as an ally and not an enemy. Another reason that the blue uniform works so well is that it is easy to keep clean and does not show stains. It is also a dark enough color that it allows police to be hidden at night if they need to sneak up on a criminal.
