Chimps have their own fashion trends

Chimps can start and maintain their own fashion trends within their troop. In one troop found in Zambia, a chimp placed a single blade of grass directly into its ear canal. This soon became all the rage within the community, and chimps competed to see who could look the coolest with their ear-canal grass. A later study based on these findings found that chimps are capable of creating “fads” and copying one another in an attempt to look stylish. The ear-canal grass fad was so strong that it continued after the creator’s death.
