Just how many helium balloons would it take to lift the average house off of the ground? Well, thanks to the Pixar and Disney film UP, we know it is somewhere around 11,000. More specifically, the animators made 10,297 individual balloons in the making of the film. This was what they mathematically estimated would be the correct number of balloons necessary for the task. Each balloon was individually generated and rendered, and the work for the balloons took multiple employee's months of time.
