The U.S. government saved every public tweet from 2006 through 2017

In what can only be described as an incredibly unecessary move by the US government, every public tweet for a decade was saved and archived. But starting in 2018, the Library of Congress decided to only save tweets on what they described as “a very selective basis”, including elections and national interest. This was supposedly not a result of the new President's use of the platform.
