The idea for the Usual Suspects started with a movie poster

Inspiration can come from the strangest places. For the 1995 mystery thriller "The Usual Suspects", a poster was created before any script. The poster, which features all of the suspects lined up against the wall, came with the tagline “all of you can go to hell.” The movie ended up being a huge success, being one of the biggest hits of 1995. It was directed by famed director Bryan Singer.
