The horror movie Scream was originally titled Scary Movie

Scream is one of the most famous horror movies ever made. It includes many common tropes of the horror genre, so much so in fact that the Weinstein brothers, who wrote and directed the film, nearly named it Scary Movie. All throughout production, the working title of the film was Scary Movie, and only after production wrapped did the Weinstein brothers change the name to Scream after being inspired by the Michael Jackson song of the same name. Scary Movie, a comedy and much campier knock-off of horror films, did eventually get made.
