The Godfather was one of the biggest, most successful, and most critically acclaimed movies of all time. It opens with a scene of Marlon Brando, who holds a cat throughout it. The cat was actually not called for in the original script and was only added at the last second. Francis Ford Coppola, the director of the film, found the stray cat walking around the film lot. He thought it would add to the scene, and he was right. It helped make the scene one of the most iconic of all time.
