Stanley Kubrick destroyed almost all of his props and sets from 2001: A Space Odyssey

Famed director Stanley Kubrick was known as a bit of an eccentric, and what he did to the film props and sets from 2001: A Space Oddysey is par for the course. Kubrick had nearly every prop and set from the film destroyed after filming. He did not want them to be used in any other works of art and did not want them to be placed in a museum, and therefore he thought the only course of action was to remove the props and sets from existence.
