Sir Patrick Stewart lost 21 pounds to play an older and sicker Xavier in 'Logan'

Sir Patrick Stewart is best known for two of his recurring roles: Jean-Luc Picard from Startrek and Professor X from X-Men. In the film ‘Logan’, starring Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Stewart got a chance to reprise his role, but it would take a little work. Logan was set quite a ways into the future, and while Wolverine’s healing ability stopped him from much aging, Professor X aged quite a bit. Stewart was required to lose 21 pounds from his already thin frame to play the sickly Professor X in the film.
