While he is now the most famous children's “horror” author of all time, RL Stine wrote jokes for Bazooka Joe wrappers well before turning to the horror genre. Bazooka Joe is a popular American brand of gum that contains comics and small jokes on each wrapper. Stine wrote for them for a number of years before finding his footing as an author, publishing books like “Night of the Living Dummy”, “Welcome to Dead House”, and “The Werewolf of Fever Swamp”.
