Pet rat sales went up after the release of the film Ratatouille

The Pixar film Ratatouille boosted sales of a 4-legged, tailed pet… not the cat or the dog, but the rat. Demand for rats surged after the film released in 2007. In Britain and France, where the film was set, domestic pet rat sales went up by over 50 percent. A large part of this was due to the fact that people looked into pet rats after watching the movie and liked what they saw. Contrary to popular opinion, pet rats are actually one of the cleanest and least smelly pets you can own.
