In April 1930, the BBC once reported "There is no news" for a day

Wow, imagine living in a world where there was officially “no news”. On April 30, 1930, the British Broadcast Corporation officially announced that there was no news for the day, which in turn meant that there was news, and that news was that there was no news. It’s a bit of a news paradox, but we will not get into that. When compared to today, where having less than 20 breaking news stories in a day is rare, that no news day is almost unimaginable.
