Elvis' manager sold "I Hate Elvis" badges to make money off of his haters

Talk about any publicity being good publicity. Elvis Presley’s manager, Colonel Tom Parker, used a certain group of Elvis haters' own hatred against them. While Elvis - one of the biggest rock stars of all-time - was mostly loved, there were people who pushed back against his new musical sound and suggestive hip dancing. Parker, taking advantage of that hatred, sold “I Hate Elvis” badges to the naysayers, making money off them that would then go directly into Elvis’s pocket.
