Dr. Seuss will go down in history as one of the most famous children's authors of all time, but getting there was not always smooth sailings. When he began writing “The Cat and the Hat”, Seuss figured he would spend a bit over a week writing the story. He ended up struggling through it for over a year and a half before finally settling on the version we see today. While it may have been a grind, the story was a massive success.
