Christopher Nolan actually grew over 500 acres of corn to be used in the filming of his hit film, ‘Interstellar’. Going to theaters in 2014, Interstellar featured Matthew McConaughey as the main character, an astronaut tasked with flying a space ship into outer space in search for a cure for the dying Earth. His house is found in the middle of a massive cornfield, which Nolan learned how to grow in order to cut down on filming costs and make the film as realistic as possible.
