Wendy's founder Dave Thomas dropped out of high school

With that being said, Dave Thomas, the founder of the worldwide Wendy’s chain, did drop out of high school to pursue his dreams and to make money for his poor family. He considers dropping out of school as his biggest regret, as it set him back. He did later return and obtain his GED in 1993.
