There are people who still use dial up internet

According to a 2015 study, over 3 percent of the entire United States still connects to the internet through a dial-up connection. This number actually increased from 2013 to 2015, when the study was last run). A total of 9.6 million Americans connected to the internet through the old, painfully slow dial-up internet. Dial-up internet tops out at around 56 kilobytes per second. To put that in comparison, the average non-dial-up internet has a speed of 134 megabytes per second, which is more than 2000x faster.
