The Statue of Liberty in New York was a gift from France to the United States

"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free…". Famously poetic words about one of the most infamous statues ever built. Although The Statue of Liberty is a symbol of America, it is not actually American. Or at least not actually made in America. It was actually a gift from the French commemorating the alliance of France and the United States during the American Revolution.
