The term 007 comes from the zip code 20007 in Washington, D.C.

Beginning in 1953, Ian Fleming wrote the famous James Bond novels. James Bond went by the code name 007, which Fleming once told an interviewer was picked due to the Georgetown zip code 20007, as there were many spies who resided in Georgetown at that time. Since then, James Bond has become a worldwide Phenomenon with dozens of movies being made and the character being played by actors such as Sean Connery and Daniel Craig.
