In 1872, Susan B Anthony was fined $750 for unlawfully voting in the election. Anthony is considered a pioneer in the quest for women receiving equal rights as men, and former President Donald Trump pardoned the fine of Anthony on the 100th anniversary of the trial. Anthony voted in the presidential race of Ulysses S. Grant and Horace Greeley, fully aware that what they were doing was illegal.
