The woodpecker can peck up to 16 times a second

While you may have only ever seen a woodpecker on your Saturday morning cartoons, woodpeckers are actually fairly prevalent in certain parts of the world. Just like Woody Woodpecker, they make their living drilling their beaks into trees and finding delicious insects within. Woodpeckers are specifically built to burrow into trees, with hard beaks capable of pecking 16 times per second into the rough bark. That means they peck almost 1000 times a minute.
