Cats have incredibly sensitive ears and are actually able to hear ultrasounds. We humans use ultrasounds as a means to see inside the body, whether that is to look at babies early in the pregnancy or to look at injured ligaments after a nasty ankle roll. We can’t hear a thing and only feel a slight buzz when they are used. To cats, ultrasounds would be incredibly high-pitched and annoying, as they have the ability to hear much higher sounds than us.
